Back on the playground

Back on the playground

Cross posted at teammoshman.com   ********   I’ve always had an affinity for the swings.  They are, to this day, my absolute favorite piece of playground equipment.  In elementary school during recess, more often than not, you’d find me on the swings.   There’s a rush that you get on them that you just can’t find on something like the slides or the monkey bars.  The thrill of having the wind blow past you as you try to push yourself higher and higher. Then,  finally getting enough momentum so that you actually get the chains to slacken a bit.  We all know what comes next.  Launching yourself off the swing as you hit the apex, trying to send yourself further than the last time you were on them.     I’m beginning to lose my fascination with the swings, but the thrill of that uptick keeps sucking me in for another...

Cross posted at teammoshman.com   ******             Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. – Revelation 13:18       oops.   I felt bad for the other guy.  I’ve been on that end of the stick and know how much it sucks.  Then I started counting my winnings after the tourney ended and quickly stopped feeling bad for him.   – – – – – –   I’m really loving these hyper turbo sats at the moment.  Like most things I love, they will probably betray me sooner rather than later, but for the moment I’m enjoying the love affair.   I should probably thank Collin for introducing us, but I’m sure once I have a falling out with the Hyper’s I’ll be ruing the day I first saw that video he made.   Since I started seriously dabbling with these I’ve done ok, and have been really happy with my play the last couple of days.   *small sample size alert*           It took me a few games but I made an adjustment (guess where on the graph) to how I was playing these and it’s seemed to pay off.   I’m hoping I can get some time in on the tables this weekend and see what kind of volume I can get with these.  For the most part I’ve been playing them when I have 15-20 minutes here and there and 1-2 at a time.  I think I’ve finally internalized the game enough to be able to give 3-4 a shot.   – – – – –   I’m headed to San Francisco in a few hours to go to the official St. Mary’s College viewing party for their game against Baylor.  It should be fun.  They’re holding it at Pac Bell Park (I’ll never call it by it’s current name, I hate that company with a passion) and showing it on the big screen in center field.   I’ll post pics when I get back.   God is a Gael.  Go SMC!    ...

145% ROI is sustainable…

145% ROI is sustainable…

…right Gnomey?   Sorry.  That’s a bit of an inside joke between a friend and I.   Every time I come across a new game I seem to win the first few I play before crashing back to reality. I’ve recently become enamored with the hyper turbo satellites on Stars.  Of course just as I get comfortable with the structure, they go and change it up on me. Instead of a 500 chips sat with blinds at 25/50/10 they change it to a 750 chips sat with blinds at 20/40/10 to start.   I dabbled in a couple (literally) before setting down to crunch some numbers on these.     Clearly that’s sustainable, right?   😛   Of course, I wake up this morning, ready to dive into the new structure (which I think I preferred a little more) and they’ve changed them back to the original structure.   *sighs*   – – – –   Reading Monteroy’s post yesterday also inspired me to break down and give a PLO DoN a try.   I know very little about hand equities in PLO, but have a pretty good grasp on DoN play.   Needless to say, I played like a donk (at least on one hand early), tried to steal blinds 2x in a row late with a shortish stack and hit my 8 outer to double up on the second steal attempt.   These could be a lot of fun.   Now I just need to figure out what the heck I’m doing.  My hope is to soon graduate to being a dead money guy (DMG).   – – – –   On the iPod at the moment: Mewithoutyou: A To B Life Foundation for Economic Education: Economics In One Lesson (Abridged Audiobook) And as always: The Onion Radio News.   ****** cross posted at...
