We Don’t Need Their Scum

or:   How I learned to stop worrying and love the bounty.             *****   This is actually a repost of a blog I made earlier this year that somehow got lost in the innerwebz during the transition to teammoshman.com.  Rather than just do a simple repost of the initial blog, I decided to try something a little different with it.   So, below is the original blog post as it was written (with a few minor corrections that were bugging me) and you can see my little experimentation by hitting play.   *****   I was browsing the TM forum the other day when I saw that someone had asked a question regarding the effect of the KO bounty in the KO SnG’s on Stars and if he needed to adjust his strategy when playing KO’s vs regular SnG’s.   I quickly replied that the short answer was yes.  The bounty for the KO gives stacks that cover you more incentive to call and thus they SHOULD be calling you...

Back on the playground

Cross posted at teammoshman.com   ********   I’ve always had an affinity for the swings.  They are, to this day, my absolute favorite piece of playground equipment.  In elementary school during recess, more often than not, you’d find me on the swings.   There’s a rush that you get on them that you just can’t find on something like the slides or the monkey bars.  The thrill of having the wind blow past you as you try to push yourself higher and higher. Then,  finally getting enough momentum so that you actually get the chains to slacken a bit.  We all know what comes next.  Launching yourself off the swing as you hit the apex, trying to send yourself further than the last time you were on them.     I’m beginning to lose my fascination with the swings, but the thrill of that uptick keeps sucking me in for another...

Cross posted at teammoshman.com   ******             Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. – Revelation 13:18       oops.   I felt bad for the other guy.  I’ve been on that end of the stick and know how much it sucks.  Then I started counting my winnings after the tourney ended and quickly stopped feeling bad for him.   – – – – – –   I’m really loving these hyper turbo sats at the moment.  Like most things I love, they will probably betray me sooner rather than later, but for the moment I’m enjoying the love affair.   I should probably thank Collin for introducing us, but I’m sure once I have a falling out with the Hyper’s I’ll be ruing the day I first saw that video he made.   Since I started seriously dabbling...

145% ROI is sustainable…

…right Gnomey?   Sorry.  That’s a bit of an inside joke between a friend and I.   Every time I come across a new game I seem to win the first few I play before crashing back to reality. I’ve recently become enamored with the hyper turbo satellites on Stars.  Of course just as I get comfortable with the structure, they go and change it up on me. Instead of a 500 chips sat with blinds at 25/50/10 they change it to a 750 chips sat with blinds at 20/40/10 to start.   I dabbled in a couple (literally) before setting down to crunch some numbers on these.     Clearly that’s sustainable, right?   😛   Of course, I wake up this morning, ready to dive into the new structure (which I think I preferred a little more) and they’ve changed them back to the original structure.   *sighs*   – – – –   Reading Monteroy’s post yesterday also inspired me to break down and give a...
